In this type, manual intervention is required to update location change. Hence, the driver needs to tap their ID and select a station from the list. This mode of fare collection is also similar to railway systems wherein passengers tap-on their card when they board and tap-off before they alight.
Commuters can avail unlimited rides depending on their time-based subscription (1 day, 3 days, or more).
The subscription’s duration may also vary depending on available promos.
GPS or Global Positioning System is used to automatically update the vehicle’s location and activate tracking of the nearest station. It differs from the offline Station-Based type which still requires manual selection to change and update locations.
